Question 2 - How effective is the combination of the main product (your music videos) and ancillary tasks (digipack and magazine advert)?

The link between our music video and our media products (digipak and magazine advert) is very simple however it does have meaning behind it for example one of the main links is the colour scheme which is black and white, the black and white images are used on both the digipak and magazine advert with the exact same image being used as well however this image is not in the music video itself as the quality of some of the images from our music video I believe were not up to a standard that I could make effective on my digipak and magazine advert. Here are an example of the black and white colour schemes that have been used on the digipak, magazine advert and in our film as well as the link that mainly links all 3 products together which is the 2 main characters, a man and a woman, which you can see clearly on the magazine advert, also on the digipak and also in a screenshot from our film below of the 2 main characters from the film;

 

Our music video uses black and white clips for the flashback section which completes the black and white link between all 3 products. As well as the black and white sections there is another link that is the record logo '25 records' of which the logo in on our magazine advert and digipak plus also features in a scene of our music video as the logo looks like a poster on the wall. Another link to the black and white theme exists within the costumes, as the male character is wearing a white shirt with black trousers which are the 2 colours we have used a lot in the music video.

As my magazine advert and digipak are very similar I will be summing up both of them and how they link to the music video as during the process of making both products I received feedback that my magazine advert had no obvious link to the music video therefore I had to add in a small feature which is the black figures of the man and woman who are facing away from one another as if they are ignoring each other maybe because they are angry which has a link to our narrative in our music video as there is a section where the man and woman fall out due to the man keeping secrets from the girl causing her to storm out in anger leaving the man by himself.

Due to the change of my magazine advert I then realised my digipak had no link to the magazine advert what so ever, meaning my digipak went through a big change of design, the design changed from something I wasn't too happy with and the best way I think I could link the magazine advert and digipak together best is by using the same image but slight altering the colours so they aren't completely the same but at least the image is the same and can be seen as the face and identity of this song/ album.

As mentioned there are a few links between the 3 products and these include; black and white colour scheme, narrative of man and woman fall & image of man and woman facing away from each other, record logo in all 3 products, finally there is one last link that I could've included which is location however this link could not be bridged.
